DS4 at different temperatures (30, 45 and 50 °C) and different salinity [in BG11 or mBG11 (with 3.3% NaCl) liquid medium]; (B) Photosynthetic growth of DS4 cells in BG11 liquid medium supplemented with different levels of NaCl at 30 °C. All cultures were bubbled with filtered air in an orbital shaker (speed 150 rpm), except for “low-air mBG11” cultures in panel (A), which were not bubbled with air. The light intensity was 30 µmol photons m− 2s− 1. Data are the mean ± SD (n = 2)
