DNA affinity chromatography with the ftsZ promoter region. Crude cell extract of C. glutamicum ATCC13032 cultivated in glucose minimal medium to the mid-exponential growth phase was incubated with an immobilized 417-bp DNA fragment covering the ftsZ promoter region and strongly binding proteins were eluted with a high-salt buffer. Proteins enriched with the ftsZ promoter were separated by SDS-PAGE, stained with colloidal Coomassie, and identified by peptide-mass fingerprinting using MALDI-ToF MS analysis (Additional file 1: Table S1).
